Village Adoption Programme

Srinivasa Institute of Management Studies (SIMS), located at P. M. Palem, Madhurawada, Visakhapatnam, is committed to community development through its Village Adoption Programme. The initiative aims to improve the quality of life in nearby rural communities by introducing sustainable development practices, creating social awareness, and encouraging active participation from faculty members and students.

The adopted village, Golla Yendada, is situated approximately 5 km from the college campus, enabling continuous interaction and regular field activities. Through applied fieldwork, students gain practical exposure, strengthen their analytical skills, and develop a deeper understanding of rural development while identifying and addressing local issues in collaboration with the community and government authorities.

Activities Undertaken at Golla Yendada

• Coordinate developmental activities in collaboration with the local GVMC Corporator.
• Create awareness among villagers regarding various Government welfare schemes.
• Conduct meetings with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and youth clubs to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment.
• Organize life-skill development programmes to help hardworking villagers recognize and utilize their strengths.
• Conduct awareness rallies on tree plantation, plastic eradication, and rainwater harvesting.
• Implement social development programmes focusing on:
